BMW Doesn’t Use Turn Signal, Cuts Off Audi And Causes Crash

Driving in the rain on slippery roads presents a number of challenges to many motorists and certainly requires a little more care than when driving on dry roads. This dashcam footage shows how easily things can go wrong in wet conditions when drivers aren’t as careful as they should be.

The clip, filmed in Aventura, Florida, was filmed from the dashcam of a car stuck in the left-lane of a traffic jam on the road. A black BMW 3-Series can be seen in the right line when the driver suddenly decides to change into one of the center lanes but without putting on their turn signal or looking in their mirrors.

As the 3-Series pulls out, a white Audi A5 Cabriolet comes into view and is forced to brake and swerve to avoid rear-ending the BMW. As the Audi swerves, it collects a white VW Passat, likely causing rather significant damage to both vehicles. The BMW can then be seen driving away from the scene.

It would be easy to place all the blame on the 3-Series for the crash but both the A5 and Passat played their own individual roles in the incident by traveling too fast past stopped traffic, something which is always risky no matter the weather conditions. A thread on Reddit includes comments from some suggesting the Audi driver should have avoided swerving in a bid to avoid the 3-Series and just tried to break in a straight line but inevitably, the driver was operating on instinct and only had a split second to decide what to do.

He failed to use more than just the indicator, but also his eyes, mirrors and his brain…

  • Six_Tymes

typical idiot D-BAGS, they do that daily.

  • JqC

    So… basically… typical BMW driver..?

    • 85ZingoGTR

Then they get mad for generalizing them. But it just happens that 75% of the d-bags I encounter happen to drive a luxury car with a 3-letter acronym.

    • db

AND from the looks of it, he kept going AFTER the accident.

what a POS…… especially for driving away.

Hopefully there was enough there to figure out who this was.

  • dr_sn0w

Typical BMW driver. Then their kids get out and laugh at you because your car is a few years old. Snots raising brats.

  • 85ZingoGTR

Nothing new here. Just about 75% of the time I encounter a d-bag when driving in NJ the car happens to have a kidney grille. The rest of the 25% of the time it’s a Honda Accord, a Range Rover, or a Hummer H2. This is why I cringed when BMW announced they were making a full sized SUV. So in case your 3-Series wasn’t enough to make you feel like a douche already, you can take it to the next level by combining this feeling with the “I think I own the road feeling” of a full size SUV.

When the entrance ramp is backed up like that and the moron in the Audi is coming in hot on a rainy day no less with no proper lane to get onto the main drag, to me that is a moron yet the Bimmer cuts out of his lane where there is no proper lane not plus not using a signal either.

Dunce meet moron, moron this is dunce. Let’s hope both your insurance companies play nice, assuming the BMW did end up stopping. It looked like he(?) just kept on driving afterwards.

  • Mason_Wheeler

    Typical black car driver.

Not sure why, but virtually every time I see some aggressive idiot out there acting like he owns the road, the car he’s in is painted black. It’s consistent enough that there has to be some underlying psychological principle behind it (some reason that makes people like that want to buy black cars, maybe?) though I’m really not sure what it is.

  • Shobin Drogan

I hope the bmw driver gets caught and pays for the damages he caused!
For the people saying that the audi was driving too fast, sorry but it is irrelevant if he was driving 20mph or 40mph. That acccident would’ve happened regardless because, the moron didn’t even bother to check his mirrors.

    • Knotmyrealname

What rubbish. Anyone who can’t avoid another car that’s 200 yards ahead of you when you are travelling at 20mph is either brain-dead or dead.
      Or you.

      • Shobin Drogan

Anyone who doesn’t know how to check their mirrors,
doesn’t know how to use their turn signals, causes an accident and drives away from the scene of an accident is either brain dead or dead.
        Or you.

        • Knotmyrealname

          How original.

  • Knotmyrealname

Firstly, I think the title of the story should be Driver doesn’t use turn signal.
Next, how about “Driver collides, ignoring road conditions and congestion ahead”?

  • Cobrajet

It makes me think why we haven’t had automatic turn signals yet.
