Following a teaser earlier this year, Drako Motors has unveiled their first car at The Quail.

Billed as the culmination of nearly a decade of work, the GTE is an ultra-luxury sedan that is based on the old Fisker Karma. Despite this, the model is not a copycat as it features a new front end with slender headlights, a carbon fiber hood and large air intakes.

The sides largely carry over, but now come with sportier side skirts and hidden door handles. Bigger changes can be found at the rear in the form of a massive diffuser and a small trunk with an integrated spoiler.

Drako only released a handful of interior pictures, where we can see that the four-seat cabin is clad in leather and Alcantara and features a touchscreen infotainment system and carbon fiber trim.

Power comes from a 90 kWh battery pack that feeds no less than four electric motors, which produce a combined output of 1,200 HP (895 kW / 1,217 PS) and 6,491 lb-ft (8,800 Nm) of torque. Drako didn’t mention the car’s range or 0-60 mph (0-96 km/h) time, but did say that the GTE has a top speed of 206 mph (332 km/h).

The company was also coy about recharging times, but confirmed the model has a 15 kW onboard charger and can also be use DC fast chargers with a capability of up to 150 kW.

Other notable features include an Öhlins suspension and Brembo carbon ceramic brakes. There’s also a torque vectoring system that adjusts “positive and negative torque on each wheel over one thousand times per second”, something the company says helps give the GTE cornering precision unlike any supercar on the market. Which, frankly, is a very bold statement indeed.

While there’s still a lot to learn about it, Drako has announced that the GTE will go into production shortly. Each model carries a base price of $1.25 million (£1.02 million / £1.12 million at current rates) and the company only expects to build 25 units. Customers can already place their orders, with the first deliveries slated to begin next year.
