Teen Pushes Birthday Gift BMW Into River Because He Wanted A Jaguar

An 18-year old man from India reportedly pushed his brand new BMW into a river after receiving the German car for his birthday.

News outlet NDTV reports that the young man was given the white BMW 3-Series from his parents for his birthday but it wasn’t the car he wanted. Instead, the man purportedly demanded his parents gift him a Jaguar and evidently, the German alternative was not to his liking.

Footage shared online in India shows the BMW slowly sinking beneath the surface of a river but despite the youth’s best efforts to destroy the vehicle, it apparently re-surfaced after flowing into a small island on the river. Locals rushed to try and save the BMW but it remains to be seen if they were successful in doing so.

“Akash was unhappy with his father for not buying him (a) Jaguar,” police said in a statement. “He deliberately pushed (the) luxury vehicle BMW into the river.”

According to one local villager, people tried to prevent the 3-Series from going under out of fear that someone might have been inside but fortunately, the car was empty.

Officials say no charges have been filed against the ungrateful man with claims that he has a mental deficiency and is undergoing treatment.

Some people in other countries don’t even have a car…

    • HD

This is in India. Most people don’t own cars there.

      • HaltestelleLuitpolthafen

Most people don’t even have toilets, let alone a car.

India is a third world country.

    • Loquacious Borborygmus

      Neither does he!

      • Rahul Mandala

Such people don’t deserve a car. He took his parent’s sign of love for him and pushed it into the river.

  • WalthamDan

Should have given him a Tata

    • Loquacious Borborygmus

      They should say ta-ta!

    • Classic Bob

      A used Nano..

    • SD38439

Or a Tesla. Would have exploded before he got a chance to push it in a river.

  • salamOOn

this cant be real…. I would throw him out on a street after that.

    • db

      How about the river?

  • diesel_vdub

    Spoiled brat.

  • Giannis Antypas

    Brand new BMW.

    For sale. Bargain, few miles.

    • db

Freshly washed both inside and out…

      • Stigasawuswrecks

So new it’s wet under the ears.

    • Loquacious Borborygmus

      Yes but the engine’s flooded.
      Still, it looks shipshape.

    • Bubba Fett

Ran when parked. Very low mileage. No low-ballers. I know what I have.

      • db

        No low-ballers, “bailers”maybe but not low-ballers….

  • Stigasawuswrecks

If I did that my parents would beat the brakes off of me and then make go get the car out and clean it until it’s perfect. Some kids just need an old fashioned whooping.

  • db

Who says you can’t have first world problems in third world countries.

  • Hot Twink

His parents are to blame. He didn’t just grow up to behave that way. His wealthy parents gave him whatever he wanted, when he wanted it.

They should have had that spoiled brat live in a forster home or in an orphanage, in a cardboard box under a bridge, as well as an alleyway next to a dumpster for a while. To show him how fortunate he is.

He would be more appreciative of a gifted car (any car).

    • Jim Linkster

Yes, he should be forced into forster homes, where he’d be forced to warsh his own hands.

  • Bill Nguyen

He’s just showing his national pride! 🤪🤪🤪

  • FoxJ30

So instead of trying to sell (or heck, even trying to return) a practically brand new car, get most of the money back, and use that towards a Jag, he ditches it? Not that returning a gift is the greatest thing in the world, but beats the pants off of (essentially) wrecking a new luxury car…

    • Jim Linkster

That kid’s not the smartest nut in the marble bag.

  • Mr. EP9

This is peak levels of entitlement. He should be glad he got anything for his 18th birthday. Although, the parents are probably to blame for this behavior because he was most likely spoiled.

    • Loquacious Borborygmus

      Well…the car definitely was.

  • Some ol’ bloke

He was angry about getting a german car and not an indian one

  • Bubba Fett

He should be forced to walk from now on. No car. No bus. No taxi. No donkeys.

  • Wayne Alan Carr Heyes

    Arrogant awful horrible human being!!!

  • LJ
  • TheBelltower

How does a kid get so rotten? This is probably the point at which the parents realized they did a terrible job raising this little [email protected]

    • Alduin

Maybe his mom wanted him aborted but his dad made her not go through with it.

  • Aeromann

Now daddy will offer him a tata nano. 😂😂😂

  • lagunas3ca

Rightfully so if it wasn’t an M or equipped with M Sport package.

  • Alduin

Ungrateful kid. He should’ve thrown himself instead.

  • Why are they giving him a car from a country that once tried to destroy them? I understand him, the Brits colonies India, FYI!

    • Nick

BMW is German, not British. Jaguar, on the other hand, IS British.

      • as i said..

      • Jim Linkster

Not british Indian. Used to be british until they got stupid and sold to india.

        • Nick

So, by that logic, Mini is no longer British, Skoda isn’t Czech, and Lamborghini isn’t Italian.

          • Jim Linkster

Obviously. A lamborgini is just a high end volkswagen.

          • Nick

I’m going to assume this is sarcasm.

          • Jim Linkster

Nope! As soon as they sell out on their legacy, they’ve broken the lineage of their brand. There’s no longer a guarantee that the Lamborgini of today is anything better than the Volkswagen of yesterday. Most all of those cars are now German brands, both good or bad. Audi is HORRIBLE! I for one would not want my Volkswagen brand tarnished by the relationship they have with Audi. Every Audi owner I’ve known has had them in the shop, or had majors issues with them in the first few years of ownership. And many of them had to pay thousands for things not covered by their horrible warranties. Horrible motto too. ‘TRUTH IN ENGINEERING’.??? What does that even mean???

    • MP

Jaguar is owned by Tata, which is an Indian company.

    • alex.remsen

quality aside, it’s better looking than the jaguar xe

    • Smith

He doesn’t even deserve a used bicycle. Ignorant a$$hole

    • db

      Why, does it float?

    • Jim Linkster

And that one would end up in the river too. If I’m that guys dad, he ain’t ever getting another car from me. Go buy your own Jag dude…….AND you can kiss your inheritance good-bye if you don’t pay me back for that car you just destroyed.

    • Ken Lyns

That’s the base model from Jaguar Land Rover’s parent company.

  • Paul

Throw the kid in the river next, mental issues might just be a lame excuse. He really needed his behind to meet up with a good thick strap. If it were me I’d want the BMW over the Jaguar because it most likely would be more reliable.

  • Six_Tymes

18yr old twit, will grow to be an older twit. a waste of existence

    • Smith

What an ignorant little sh!t. Hope he gets nothing else and has a miserably life.

  • Enter Ranting

    Akash seems nice…

  • brn

Smart decision. In the long run, it’s better than paying for maintenance.

    • Matthew Daraei

Are you out of your mind? Jaguar cars are even worth than BMW vehicles in reliability. Had I been given a BMW for my birthday, I would have drove it in a heartbeat over any Jaguar.

  • Mr. Big

He should banished to working in one of his daddy’s scam call centers.

  • jason wu

You guys got this all wrong. The genius probably shot the whole thing and put it on youtube. Now he is just waiting for the money to roll in to buy himself a new Jag.

  • Harry_Wild

    Should of sold it!

  • Binbin90

    ugh, spoiled a** kid

even worse that he’s only 18

  • Craig

This reminds me of one of my favourite lines in a Carol Burnett Show skit where she parodied the film ‘Mildred Pierce’ starring Joan Crawford. Mildred has a daughter named Veda who was catered to in every way possible. Whenever Mildred was upset with misbehaving Veda – Veda would simply remind Mildred that, “I didn’t spoil me rotten – YOU DID!”

  • CitizenKane

Jaguar is not a Ford brand since 2008. Update your info, sir.

    • Skitz

Thank you for informing me. Didn’t realize it’s been that long.

  • Oji

U guys dont understand,he’s a patriot! He just want indian cars!

    • Olli Jokinen

I doubt it, cow pulled carts aren’t exactly convenient.

  • exeptor

Mental deficiency and driver license – sounds quite credible in one sentence to me.

  • Jim Linkster

If I’m that guys dad, he ain’t getting another car from me. Go buy your own Jag dude…….AND you can kiss your inheritance good-bye if you don’t pay me back for that car you just destroyed.

India is absolutely still considered a third world country/developing nation/whatever you want to call it. I’ve been there three times as recently as the past couple years, twice for business and once for a vacation. Once you leave a major metropolis it looks and feels third world.

Most people in larger cities DO have toilets especially if they’ve got money. The problem is many of those toilets are shared with other families/apartments, they are communal and absolutely disgusting. In rural parts of the country, there are no toilets and people do their business wherever they see fit including on the side of the road.

Yes, they are making progress but it is a cultural issue as well as to convince people to use a toilet instead of reliving themselves wherever they want.

  • Wandering_Spirit

Giving retards cars seems to have become a habit. The new level is retarded and spoilt brats in a country where hundreds of millions starve. A whole new level.

  • DingYeh Yang

oof here comes the grammar police

  • SnakePlant

It’s wrong for us to assume he wanted a Jaguar.
    https://media0.giphy.com/media/UdZfJp7HLIkKs/giphy.gif

  • and now he can take the bus.

  • dantheman

This spoiled brat should be thrown out of his parents house and left with nothing. Let him learn the value of a dollar. Also, those parents should not have coddled and spoiled that kid. I’m sure he’s done something like this before on a smaller scale.
