Nowadays, it’s not uncommon to see high-end sedans or SUVs beat the living hell out of quite a few supercars.

With a very powerful engine under the hood and neck-snapping agility, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S is one of the modern four-door kings. Powered by the highest output version of AMG’s 4.0-liter, twin-turbo V8, it has a massive 639 PS (630 HP / 470 kW) and 900 Nm (664 lb-ft) of torque directed to all four wheels via a 9-speed dual-clutch transmission. The setup allows it to do the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.2 seconds and hit a 315 km/h (195 mph) top speed.

Technically, the GT 63 S has what it takes to humiliate some blue-blooded exotics in a straight line duel. But can it beat the Lamborghini Aventador S Roadster?

The video that you’re about to see puts the spotlight on a drag race between the two, although the Raging Bull holds the high ground in terms of performance, with a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 3.0 seconds and a 350 km/h (217 mph) top speed. That’s thanks to Lamborghini’s venerable 6.5-liter, naturally aspirated V12 that produces 740 PS (730 HP/ 544 kW) and 690 Nm (509 lb-ft) of torque.

After trying its luck against the Aventador S Roadster, the German four-door supercar accepted the challenge of other vehicles, including two other AMGs, the GT R and C63, as well as an Audi RS3 Sportback. Very competent cars, all of them, though we’ll understand if it’s the outcome of its race against the Lambo that interests you the most.
