New Audi RS7 Sportback Is A 592 HP Super Sedan Ready To Hunt Everyone Down

Audi hasn’t officially (or rather, fully) revealed the new RS7 Sportback just yet, but the display car has made its appearance next to the RS6 Avant at the VW Group’s preview night and no one could take their eyes off its bulging bodywork.

Some Youtubers like Shmee were also granted exclusive access to the new hot Audi, even taking it for a drive on a public road.

Audi Sport’s latest product comes complete with a huge honeycomb grille hosted on a very aggressive front bumper, wider fenders front and rear to cover the bigger wheels, deeper side skirts and a rear bumper that houses a set of massive oval exhaust pipes.

In fact, the new Audi RS7 Sportback is 40mm wider than its normal siblings, making sure that no one will mistaken it for a plain A7. Not with those fenders, wheels and bumpers, you won’t. A set of 21-inch wheels is standard, with 22-inch items being an option.

Power as expected comes from the same twin-turbo 4.0-liter V8 engine found in the RS6, meaning an output of 592 HP (600 PS) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. An eight-speed automatic transmission is responsible of sending the power to all four wheels.

0-62 mph (100km/h) is dealt in 3.6 seconds while top speed is capped at 155 mph (250 km/h). Tick the right option and terminal velocity will be increased to either 174 mph (280 km/h) or 190 mph (305 km/h), depending on how much money you want to spend.

The powertrain is combined with a 48-volt mild-hybrid system while customers can opt for things like an all-wheel steering system for greater agility. The Quattro all-wheel drive sends up to 85 percent of the torque to the rear axle while there’s a new sport differential to further sharpen things up.

The new RS7 Sportback rides on air suspension as standard, with the RS Sport suspension offered as an option. As with the RS6 Avant, there are two new configurable RS1 and RS2 modes for the driver to tailor the car exactly as they want it.

      i like this one better!

      • Honda NSX-R

The wheels on this one are sexier

I want to see this in the same color and spec as the RS6 Avant promo vehicle. Because that satin grey color with the bright aluminum accents looked amazing!

      • Honda NSX-R

I reckon the RS6 would look better than the RS7 with that spec, the RS7 in this spec is up with the RS6 promo car in radness

    It’s not a sedan.

    • no25

rather call it a sedan than “four door coupe”

      • salamOOn

        its a liftback.

        • no25

          i never said it wasn’t.
since people clearly can’t read, i should have said “when it comes down to being called a sedan or four door coupe, i would rather hear sedan.”

“i never said it wasn’t. Since people clearly can’t read…”

And where exactly did i say you wrote that its not a liftback? All i wrote is that its a liftback (not sedan, not four door coupe)…… unnecessary dramatization from you.

I don’t know kids…I think this one looks just as good as the RS6.

I guess it’s just a question of what you prefer, sportback or wagon???

I’ll take one of each, please!!!

    • Nastinupe1911

Naw… the rear is a lot sexier. Not even close.

  • Nordschleife

Looks as expected but my expectations have been met. I might (in the first time of my life) like the wagon more but this is gotdamn gorgeous.

Looks cooler than the AMG GT 4-Door by a long shot.

    • Mike Sinyaboot ©

Agreed. The AMG GT 4-Door is a beast of a car that sounds fantastic and has a nice interior. I don’t hate the exterior design but there is just something off about it. I would happily drive one if given to me, but the car can approach $200k is S-trim and the looks don’t match the price. This new RS7 along with the RS6 are downright aggressively attractive. Also, it seems pretty obvious that Audi has downplayed their performance numbers. I have to believe both cars are faster than claimed and will post supercar-esque numbers when Audi releases the RS7RS6 Performance variants.

i want one in firmament blue metallic 🤩

  • KenjiK

Best looking Audi on the market.

  • TheBelltower

The exterior is beautiful. The interior is a hodgepodge of materials and cutlines.

  • salamOOn

no doubt its looking angry and sexy, but my chart is:

    1. current rs4
    2. rs6
    3. rs7
