A number of automakers are working on autonomous driving technology, but they face a difficult challenge selling the high-tech systems to a skeptical public.
They can taut the increased safety and comfort benefits, but honestly that’s pretty boring. So is the idea of showing someone pounding out a work e-mail on their autonomous commute.
BMW seems to another pounding on their mind as the company released a racy clip which suggests autonomous vehicles will help your sex life. As you can see in the short video, a couple are making out in what appears to be a club. As red and blue lights flash in the background, the illusion is broken and it’s revealed the couple are actually making out in the backseat of the iNext concept while a police car passes them.

The clip ends by suggesting BMW’s autonomous driving technology will bring customers “New moments of joy.” That’s pretty tongue in cheek, but the message seems to pretty clear – you can bang in your future beemer.
This isn’t exactly a revelation as Tesla trended on PornHub following the release of a video staring Taylor Jackson and a Model X with Autopilot. Of course, it’s whole different story when an automaker actually promotes the idea.
Some people have been critical of BMW’s ad, but sex in autonomous vehicles will probably become a lot more popular in the future. As we reported last year, a paper published in the Annals of Tourism Research suggested autonomous taxis could become mobile brothels which would effectively replace seedy hotels that charge by the hour.
