Volvo XC90 Veers Off Its Lane, Crashes Into Ford Mustang Head-On

A scary head-on collision was caught by a dashcam in New Hampshire earlier this year – and, before you jump to any conclusions, no, it wasn’t the ‘Stang’s fault.

The clip starts with the cammer following a first-generation Volvo XC90 on a two-lane road. One minute from the start of the video, the SUV veers to the left and enters the opposite lane. At that point, we can see clearly that there was plenty of time for the driver to steer back before hitting oncoming traffic.

However, they didn’t and went further to the left, with the left-side wheels even exiting the tarmac. We then see a first-generation Honda CR-V dodging the big, cherry red-painted bullet as its driver managed to avoid impact at the last time.

However, the following driver was not that lucky, as his brand new Ford Mustang got smashed head on by the Swedish SUV. Fortunately, everyone involved in the crash walked away with minor injuries, according to the video description.

“While out driving for work I happened to catch this accident. Everyone walked away with minor injuries. The Mustang happened to be brand new with the temp tag still on it,” writes Austin Callahan, the man who uploaded the footage.

As for the cause of the accident, it appears that the old lady driving the Volvo experienced a medical problem that caused her to lose control of the vehicle.

People who are handicapped and people who are prone to having medical problems should be banned from driving.

Do you know when you’re having a heart attack or stroke?
The majority of incidents come from idiots not using their brain.

      • Alduin

People with known Medical problems and the handicapped need to be banned from driving. They are hazardous and dangerous to other people on the road.

        • Salih Ahzem

In the U.S. not being able to drive means effectively makes you handicapped anyway so banning those people would not be that fair, we have more people with their phones in their laps anyway…

        • Zandit75

Known medical issues like Asthma? Psoriasis?
Handicapped like those who have lost limbs from injuries gained in war?
Do you want a bigger shovel to help digging that hole of yours?

    • Althea Later

Most young men and women should be banned from driving as they are constantly looking at their phones.

Lane assist and driver assist should be standard on all new vehicles, this is a very good case to put it in good use.

    • Alduin

The reason theres all these extra bs safety crap lane watch warnings automatic braking stuff/parking assist crammed in alot of new cars today is because people don’t know how to drive. They rely on these nannies to guide and tell them instead of focusing on driving. We wouldn’t need this sh|t if people who are bad at driving were banned from driving in the first place.

      • Finkployd

Never really bothered me as I’ve always used my turn signals when changing lanes.
Also they’re just « assist » features, everybody makes mistakes, personally it def saved me from minor fender bender once or twice
