The Civic is one of the best-selling cars in America and Honda has announced the 2020 model will start at $19,750.
Costing $200 more than its predecessor, the 2020 Civic will begin arriving at US dealerships tomorrow. However, there aren’t any updates as the sedan and coupe were revamped last year.
Despite carrying over, the Civic Sedan LX comes nicely equipped with auto high-beam headlights, LED daytime running lights and body-colored exterior components. About the only thing that gives away its entry-level status are the 16-inch wheels which feature plastic covers.

Moving into the cabin, drivers will find a tilt / telescopic steering column, power windows / locks and an automatic climate control system. There’s also a 5-inch infotainment system, a four-speaker audio system and a multi-angle rearview camera.
On the safety front, there’s the Honda Sensing suite of driver assistance systems. It includes forward collision warning, lane departure warning and a collision mitigation braking system. Other features include adaptive cruise control, lane keeping assist and a road departure mitigation system.
Power is provided by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 158 hp (118 kW / 160 PS) and 138 lb-ft (187 Nm) of torque. It is connected to a six-speed manual, but a continuously variable transmission is also available.
The Civic Sedan Sport starts at $21,450 and it features a more aggressive appearance thanks to a gloss black rear spoiler and a center-mounted exhaust tip. The model also has fog lights and 18-inch alloy wheels with gloss black inserts.
The interior is more luxurious as it features a leather-wrapped steering wheel, an eight-speaker audio system and a 7-inch infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility. Other niceties include sport pedals, a 60/40 split folding rear seat and a Smart Entry system.
The mid-level Civic Sedan EX begins at $23,700 and it eschews the racy components. However, the model comes equipped with a body-color rear spoiler, a power moonroof and 17-inch alloy wheels.
Inside, owners are treated to an eight-way power driver’s seat, heated front seats and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. The car also has illuminated vanity mirrors, a rear-seat armrest and Honda LaneWatch.
Besides the extra equipment, the EX features a turbocharged 1.5-liter four-cylinder engine that produces 174 hp (130 kW / 176 PS) and 162 lb-ft (219 Nm) of torque. It is connected exclusively to a continuously variable transmission.
Continuing up the ladder, the Civic Sedan EX-L starts at $24,900. It adds a handful of features including leather seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror and HomeLink.
Lastly, the range-topping Civic Sedan Touring costs $27,600. It has LED headlights, rain-sensing wipers and 18-inch alloy wheels with gloss shark gray accents. The model also has chrome door handles and heated side mirrors with LED turn signals.
Interior extras are relatively minor, but include GPS navigation and a four-way power passenger seat. There’s also a 10-speaker premium audio system with a subwoofer.
Customers can also opt for the Civic coupe which begins at $20,950 for the LX and tops out at $27,150 for the Touring. The coupe largely echoes the sedan, but a manual transmission is only available on the Sport variant.
