A Pagani Owner Just Drove Coast-To-Coast In His Huayra Roadster

It shouldn’t come as a surprise to anyone to learn that multi-million dollar hypercars are often only driven once in a while by their owners. That’s not the case with this Pagani Huayra Roadster.

Instagrammer user 1slocrx took delivery of a stunning Huayra Roadster in the middle of last year, drives it frequently and has completed a number of epic road trips with it. His most recent road trip is easily the most ambitious to date, as he drove coast-to-coast across the United States in the Italian hypercar.

The journey, which appears to have taken less than 3 days, saw the Huayra Roadster cover no less than 2936 miles (4725 km). That’s probably more than many Huayras will ever be driven and shows that just because a car is as expensive, exclusive and exotic as a Pagani, that doesn’t mean it can’t handle a long journey just as well as anything else.

Pagani unveiled the Huayra Roadster at the Geneva Motor Show in early 2017. It features a 6.0-liter twin-turbo V12 engine developed by Mercedes-AMG that delivers 754 HP and 738 lb-ft (1000 Nm) of torque and is paired with the same 7-speed automated manual transmission as the hardcore Huayra BC. Remarkably, and unlike most convertibles that are heavier than their fixed-top counterparrs, the Huayra Roadster actually weighs 176 lbs (80 kg) less than the Coupe.

In the U.S., prices for a Huayra Roadster start at around $2.5 million excluding taxes, though we imagine the carbon fiber-finished paint job bumped up that price significantly. Here’s hoping it has a clear wrap that protected it from any stone chips it may have suffered in its long journey.

Beautiful car. But, those side mirrors look like a last minute add on.

  • WELL THERE’S NO REASON WHY IT SHOULDN’T BE DRIVEN.

  • Wandering_Spirit

And why is this news? Oh yes….i remember. Because now they buy them to keep the in the fridge for 20 or 30 years. Sign of the times.

  • Six_Tymes

Beautiful car, and those side mirrors are spot on design.

  • Callanish

Since so few people have the opportunity to see one of these in person, I bet this Pagani, after a 2936 mile coast to coast trip, is now the most viewed Pagani ever seen by the general public anywhere.

To have an ice cream cone ?.. here ya go, just completed your headline.

I love it. Many people believe that some cars such as this are only made for the track, but the Huayra (at least in this case) is not just a car who’s home exists on the track. It is also a vehicle meant for the roads, not to have its’ limits pushed, but to simply sit back and enjoy the driving itself.

This is an example of a supercar, built, not simply for the track, or racing, or sporty driving, but rather for the enjoyment of driving itself. This is ‘oh‘ what a way to enjoy it.

Huayra looks like a giant insect. Always loved the Zonda. Which imo is one of the best looking supercar ever.

I’m glad he was able to get the time off from work.

Kudos to this guy, he has put more miles on a Huayra in 3 days than most will in 3 years. I’m an advocate for driving cars no matter the price, especially towards supercars and hypercars. Such amazing cars with all of the advanced technology and best driving characteristics should not be parked for years and years accruing little to no mileage.

  • SteersUright

Never a fan of this cars design at all but, I do like the beautiful purple color. Also, any owner of a truly exciting car who proceeds to drive the snot out of it will always have my respect! Major props!!
