These Modded Honda CR-Vs, Civics And Passports Are Heading To SEMA

HondIn one fell swoop, Honda has unveiled an assortment of builds for SEMA.

Since the facelifted CR-V was introduced earlier this year, it’s front and center as the company has created two concepts based on the standard crossover and its all-new hybrid variant.  The latter features a 2.0-liter four-cylinder Atkinson-cycle engine and two electric motors.  This setup increases performance as well as fuel efficiency.

CR-V Dream

First up, is the CR-V Dream which was built by Jsport Performance Accessories. Designed to appeal to “overlander” fans, the crossover has been equipped with a 1.5-inch lift kit, a front skid plate and a rear tire carrier.

The model also sports side steps and 17-inch KMC wheels that wrapped in Nitto Ridge Grappler all-terrain tires. Since the model was designed to be a home away from home, it also has a clamshell-style rooftop tent as well as a customized cargo area with a cabinet and a slide-out refrigerator.

CR-V Hybrid Do

The CR-V Hybrid Do goes in a different direction as it’s geared towards “weekend warriors.” The model has many of the same modifications as the Dream including a 1.5-inch lift kit, side steps and 17-inch KMC wheels. However, the latter are wrapped in Nitto Terra Grappler tires.

While the two are similar, the Do is less extreme as it eschews the vinyl wrap and lacks beefy bumpers. Instead, it features a Jsport roof basket which holds a Cannondale mountain bike.

Rally Passport

Sticking with the crossover theme, the Rally Passport was built by Honda R&D employees to showcase the performance and off-road capability of the all-new Passport.

Since it was designed to compete in the Limited 4WD class of the American Rally Association, it features skid plates and Braid wheels which are wrapped in Maxxis RAZR MT tires. The crossover also has a roll cage, a hand-operated hydraulic brake and Carbotech brake pads.

The model has already competed in its first event where it finished 2nd in class and 12th overall.

Ridgeline HFP Concept

The Ridgeline is a comfortable mid-sized pickup, but it has been overshadowed by competitors such as the Chevrolet Colorado, Ford Ranger and Toyota Tacoma. Honda is looking to change that by unveiling the Ridgeline HFP concept.

Billed as a rugged lifestyle vehicle, the truck has been equipped with a lift kit, a widened track and custom 18-inch wheels with a bronze finish. The model also has an assortment of Honda Genuine Accessories as well as color-matching Fuji mountain bikes.

The latter are mounted in the bed which also features a Xsporster rack. Other highlights include a roof rack and a Kukenam 3 tent from Thule.

The aforementioned models are just the tip of the iceberg as Honda will also be showing an assortment of other vehicles including a custom 1968 S800 Coupe and a 1961 Chevrolet pickup. The latter is a nod to company’s early days in America when they used trucks to transport motorcycles.

Other notable models include a customized N600 and a Civic Si drift car – just to name a few.
