Local News Reporter Jumps On Multiple Vehicles, Damages Others At Sacramento Auto Show

Local news has a tendency to be cringeworthy, but the antics of one reporter at a car show will probably make your blood boil.

As you can see in this clip posted to Facebook, Angel Cardenas was reporting from the Sacramento International Auto Show on Sunday for Good Day Sacramento. While that’s not too unusual, Cardenas’ behavior was absolutely appalling.

The segment starts off innocently enough as Cardenas chats with the show’s hosts and explains there are over 500 cars at this year’s event. Things quickly take a turn for the worse as Cardenas says “no one is out here to tell me which cars I can’t go in,” so he decides to “go on the wild side.”

I had to record this and share. If you own one of these t birds thats out at the car show you might want to give it a good once over. Ive never seen such a disregard for someone else's vehicle. And keep watching it gets worse. #someonegettingfired #someonegettingsued #boundariesbroboundaries

Cardenas then jumps on the back of a Ford Thunderbird and awkwardly poses for a few seconds. He then decides to get into a car and this goes even worse as he slams the driver’s side door into the vehicle sitting next to it.

If that wasn’t bizarre enough, Cardenas sprints to a Ford display where he eyes an Explorer Hybrid. He then asks an insane question, “Can I just finish up this live shot posing on the hood for my friends” back at the studio?

Despite a sign saying please keep off the displays, which Cardenas acknowledges, he ducks underneath the railing and jumps on the hood like an idiot. The segment quickly ends as someone off camera yells to get off the car.

Needless to say, the entire incident was insane and should have never happened. Unsurprisingly, the station was flooded with e-mails and Facebook comments criticizing Cardenas and his behavior.

The Sacramento International Auto Show reached out to the station’s general manager following the “astonishingly awful incident.” The general manager later called back to say Cardenas was “terminated immediately.”

H/T to The Sacramento Bee and The Drive

  • MikeofLA

dude looked and acted like he was coked up out of his mind. What an idiot.

  • LJ

    Fantastic.

  • charlotteharry57

Good Day Charlotte is the local Fox affiliate. I wonder if Good Day Sacramento is too. Ours is OUT OF CONTROL. ALWAYS.

    • Thunderbolt

      it’s owned by CBS

  • Ben

Once again, this is why we can’t have nice things.

  • Zandit75

Apologizing for the actions is not good enough. I hope they’re suing the guy for the damages.

  • TheBelltower

You see this all the time on insta. Morons posing on top of an exotic they’ve rented. It’s just astonishingly stupid.

    • RDS Alphard

Or worse, people who sit on other people’s car to take selfie.

  • Six_Tymes

Ultra DBAG. I worked with many reporters for 15 years in 3 states. Most (not all) are big time jerks.

    • Matt

Um his real name is clearly stated in the ARTICLE. What do you do for a job? Genuine and unrelated question.

  • BrucieBruce

These TV personalities are not hired based upon IQ. Have you ever really listened to them? If they are local personalities, it generally gets worse. I hope what damage this guy did was buffed right out.

  • NO DESIRE TO WATCH BUT DON’T THEY HAVE SECURITY?

    • Bo Hanan

That fat female was security. The flirting with the idiot.

  • BlackPegasus

I’m not gonna watch the footage. Reading the description of the events was enough to make my blood boil. Glad the POS was terminated ?

  • Alduin

This idiot has some balls he should go ahead and try this in Compton he’d get shot.

  • Mr. Big

The dude wasn’t much of a reporter, he didn’t know the basic facts about the event he was covering. Probably best he was let go so he could find a job in the fast-food industry which is more suited to his skills.

  • Craig

He should spend 30 days in jail. AND pay for the damages. Being FIRED isn’t punishment enough.

  • MJ Coffey

    What an asshat. ?

  • ThatGuy

He is not a car person, he lacks car etiquette is all.
His a guy that buys a Merc or BMW because its premium and looks good.
Not for liking it or knowing its capabilities and what suites him more.

There are many like him out there and they are more numerous than car enthusiasts.
Man it hurts to see the damage his done…………….those classics ……………..oh no

    • Dennis James

What does “etiquette” word have to do with describing a drugged or drunk mad man acting like a monkey ?

      • illogicalPotato

I think even when I’m drunk or high; I STILL wouldn’t be able to bring myself to do the things he would do to a car. Like Slamming the door open into another car or jumping on someones car. Etiquette. It’s just ingrained.

  • ctk4949

    What a douche!!

  • Bill Nguyen

Maybe he wanted to get fired?
Better watch out, crazy guy like that, potential mass murderer probably… ???

  • TB

What a frigging Douche Canoe. I wouldn’t hire him to run the fry machine at McDonald’s!

And WTF is up with his shirt? Dude looks like a total slob.
