New James Bond Film To Star DBS Superleggera, Valhalla, DB5, And Classic V8

It has been revealed that the potent Aston Martin DBS Superleggera will feature in the 25th James Bond film No Time To Die.

Back in June it was revealed that the film would include the iconic DB5, an original V8, and the new Valhalla hypercar and now the DBS Superleggera has been added to that list, making for one hell of a quartet.

The Aston Martin DB5 is perhaps the most famous James Bond car of them all and was previously driven by Daniel Craig during Skyfall. The Aston Martin V8 was previously featured in The Living Daylights. No Time To Die will mark the film debut of the DBS Superleggera and Valhalla.

Whereas Aston Martin is currently producing and delivering the DBS Superleggera to customers around the world, the same can’t be said about the Valhalla. In fact, the car is still in development after its shock premiere at the Geneva Motor Show earlier this year. We suspect the example featured in the film will be an early pre-production prototype with production-ready skin but a powertrain distinct from the eventual road car.

Clearly, the Valhalla will be the fastest car in the new film. Powering the eventual production model will be a turbocharged hybrid V6 engine with a total of 1000 hp. The car will feature an 8-speed, F1-inspired dual-clutch transmission and a limited-slip differential. It will be underpinned by a carbon fiber monocoque and weigh less than 1350 kg (2976 lbs) providing it with a power-to-weight ratio of 750 hp per tonne.

And it’s easy enough for a girl to drive. Apparently. sigh

I think it is lazy film making to “replace” a character. It’s also disrespectful to the target audience and the long time faithfuls. I haven’t seen the movie so there’s no reason to judge it yet, but I hope there is a good explanation rather than nobody talking about the elephant in the room. If you’re going to make a female MI6 agent, give her a backstory, her own lore, essentially, proper character development. Don’t let it be another lazy hand-me-down. Develop meaningful characters!

Wow, where did that come from? Are you replying to the wrong comment? Although everything you say is correct. Don’t forget the fact that passing a legend like JB over to a minority group/s is a slap in the face. Basically it’s saying “you either don’t have the brains or ability to develop this and execute it yourself, so we’ve prepared it for you”.

Craig’s original comment was “easy enough for a girl to drive”. This is referring to the new Bond film which will feature a woman as the featured MI6 agent.

I like that they’re trying different story lines inside the Bond IP, but I don’t want a literal female James Bond. Give her a proper story, lore and character development rather than saying “James Bond is female now”. But like I said, we haven’t seen the film yet and they possibly have done that.

Jolie, Theron, and JLaw are some of the big names who have done the spy genre but have yet to spawn a franchise. Ultimately, I dont think audiences buy it in the long run.

Handing over a decade’s long franchise seems to be the best they can hope for. Lets just hope it doesn’t Ghostbusters backfires on them.

  • i was hoping for a tesla or nissan leaf..

They would make the movie more useless. Aston Martins new and old are what keeps Bond going.

  • Mr. EP9

It better be a good damn movie. Hollywood has been releasing a lot of garbage these days.

    • S3XY

How is it going to be good when bond is an f-n woman? literally stupid

      • Ben

If she’s her own character rather than trying to replace James Bond. But Hollywood is lazy and doesn’t like developing new characters. Writers are scared and studios don’t want to take the risk.

  • Astonman

Bond is still Bond. He’s no longer 007 because he’s retired. The new 007 is a woman for this movie.

    • Bo Hanan

Not true. Bond takes a sabbatical and a woman temporarily steps in as 007 until he comes back to his senses.

      • Astonman

you are correct – I worded it wrong.
