From the Porsche 918 to the Lamborghini Aventador and Bugatti Veyron, the Dubai police department has some of the most impressive patrol cars on the planet.

The lineup is about to get bigger, as they just announced that the Tesla Cybertruck will be ready to serve and protect the streets of the city located in the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The announcement was made on Twitter by the Dubai police force, with the year 2020 written in the caption.

However, the company won’t begin production of the electric pickup until late 2021, given that there won’t be any delays, something that Tesla is famously known for, and the range-topper will hit assembly the following year. Thus, we can assume that the Dubai police has placed a reservation for it, one of the 250,000 made so far, according to Elon Musk’s tweet posted on Wednesday.

Accompanying the caption is a rendering of the Cybertruck that shows it dressed in the specific white and green livery. The vehicle will patrol the major areas popular with tourists, like Burj Khalifa, La Mer, Jumeirah Beach Residence and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard, reports ArabianBusiness, quoting Major General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri.

In another social media post, the Dubai police announced that yet another exciting ride has joined their fleet: the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S. The German super saloon was referred to as “a qualitative addition to the luxury patrols in the department”, which will “be stationed in different tourist spots and landmark areas across the emirate”.
