The EPA has published estimated consumption figures for the 2020 Chevrolet Blazer range, including the new 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder now available.

The most significant update made to the Blazer for the 2020 model year is the inclusion of this four-cylinder that comes standard on the 2LT and 3LT models. This powertrain delivers 230 hp and 258 lb-ft (350 Nm) of torque and is coupled to a nine-speed automatic transmission.

According to the EPA, it sips 21 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway making for a combined 24 mpg in front-wheel drive guise. Should customers opt for the all-wheel drive system, the 2020 Blazer returns 21 mpg city / 27 highway and 23 mpg combined with this engine.

Remaining at the base of the Blazer range is a naturally-aspirated 2.5-liter four-cylinder offered in L and 1LT models. It produces a total of 193 hp and 188 lb-ft (255 Nm) of torque. The EPA’s estimates pen it at 21 mpg city / 27 mpg highway and 23 combined mpg in front-wheel drive guise, the only form it is available in.

Continuing to power the range-topping RS and Premier models as standard, and offered as an option with the Blazer 2LT and 3LT, is a 3.6-liter V6 pumping out 308 hp and 270 lb-ft (366 Nm) of torque. When coupled to a front-wheel drive system, the engine returns 19 mpg city / 26 mpg highway and 21 mpg over the combined cycle. In all-wheel drive guise, these figures fall to 18 mpg city / 25 mpg highway and stay at 21 mpg combined.

Visually, the 2020 Blazer receives three new colors in the form of Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, Bright Blue Metallic, and Midnight Blue Metallic. In addition, Chevrolet has rolled out a new Black Grille Bar Package and a Decal Package to give the SUV some sporty appeal.

What else is new for 2020?

Elsewhere, Chevrolet has added a switch to disable the engine start/stop system while also adding Hitch Guidance with Hitch View should anyone want to use the 2020 Blazer for towing.

Also new for 2020 is the availability of the Blazer Redline Edition that comes standard with 20-inch gloss black aluminum wheels with red accents, black Blazer badges with red accents, black across the grille, window surround, wing mirror caps, doors handles, and front and rear bowties as well as numerous interior and exterior red decals.
