Facelifted for the 2020 model year and already available in Europe, the Volkswagen T6 recently paid a visit to ABT Sportsline, where the focus was on power.

The tuner’s engine control unit aimed at the 2.0-liter TDI diesel lets it enjoy 180 PS (177 hp / 132 kW) and 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) of torque, up from the standard 150 PS (148 hp / 110 kW) and 340 Nm (251 lb-ft).

With the software tune up and running, ABT then installed a height adjustable suspension kit made by Bilstein. This option can drop the body by 40-70 mm (1.6-2.8 in), and will be joined by the ABT suspension springs in a few weeks. Speaking of parts that are in development brings us to yet another engine tune that targets the 199 PS (196 hp / 146 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) variant of the oil burner, and bumps it to 226 PS (223 hp / 166 kW) and 490 Nm (361 lb-ft).

The final touch represents the addition of the aftermarket wheels, with ABT offering the 8.5×19-inch DR and 9×20-inch GR sets. The latter can be had in glossy black with diamond machined flange or matte black with diamond machined finish.

ABT’s previous encounter with the pre-facelifted version of the T6 brought it a body kit, four-pipe exhaust system and a few other extras, as the customer demanded, so the latest iteration might eventually go down the same route. The ECU tune was also available for a variety of petrol and diesel engines.
