A rare 2005 Gemballa Mirage GT will be sold by RM Sotheby’s during its Paris auction on February 5.

Gemballa only built 25 examples of its Porsche Carrera GT-based Mirage GT and this car is one of just three Gold Edition variants. It was commissioned by professional Cameroonian soccer player Samuel Eto’o and has only ever been owned by him.

Each Gemballa Mirage GT is adorned with distinctive bodywork that immediately distinguishes them from run-of-the-mill Carrera GTs. Virtually all of the body panels are new, including the front and rear fascias, as well as a bespoke engine cover, rear wing, and roof scoop. The Mirage GT Gold Edition is bathed in a remarkable black paint complete with rainbow-colored flakes that really makes it pop. There are also a host of gold carbon fiber parts as well as gold wheels and gold mesh above the engine bay. Even the quad tailpipes are trimmed in gold.

Elsewhere, the tuning company adorned the Carrera GT’s screaming 5.7-liter V10 engine with a new ram-air intake system, stainless-steel exhaust with sport catalytic converters, and a remapped ECU to increase power by 58 hp, bringing total grunt up to 670 hp and 464 lb-ft (630 Nm) of torque.

Much of the supercar’s interior is also bespoke thanks to new leather-wrapped parts, numerous carbon fiber accents, gold trim, and Alcantara across the steering wheel. A look at a plaque in the center console reveals this was the 7th Mirage GT produced and the 409th Carrera GT manufactured.

The supercar has a touch under 6,500 km (4,038 miles) under its belt and is expected to sell for between €775,000 and €875,000 ($861,505 – $972,667).
