If you’re of the mindset that a factory standard BMW X5 is for people who only care about hauling their family from point A to B, then opting for the M Sport spec, along with a couple of AC Schnitzer mods might be for you.

The SUV you see here, on display at BMW Abu Dhabi, features precisely that configuration, where the AC Schnitzer bits are comprised of the custom front bumper spoiler and the rear roof spoiler. Otherwise, this is a pretty regular spec.

The exterior is painted in Phytonic Blue Metallic, while the cabin features Ivory White leather on the seats, door panels and center console.

In the U.S., you can get an X5 xDrive40i from $61,200. The M Sport spec is another $5,750, while the Phytonic Blue colorway requires another $550. Meanwhile, the Ivory White Merino leather will set you back $1,000 if you go with the Extended version, which is what we see on this particular vehicle. However, you can also get Full Merino leather in Ivory White, which will cost you $3,350.

As for performance, the BMW X5 xDrive40i is equipped with a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo inline-6 unit, producing 335 HP (340 PS) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm) of torque. With the help of its Intelligent all-wheel drive system, this German premium SUV will accelerate from zero to 60 mph (96 km/h) in 5.3 seconds, which is pretty darn good for a near-entry level variant.

Therefore, going with a more visually-aggressive exterior makes a great deal of sense.
