Bentley’s Mulliner division is planning on launching a bespoke and handbuilt GT under the name Bacalar at this year’s upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
The new luxury vehicle will be a Mulliner product set to be produced in very limited numbers, featuring styling inspired by Bentley’s EXP 100 GT centenary concept car.
A previous report on the matter suggested that Mulliner’s first coachbuilt vehicle since 2002, and the State Limousine for Queen Elizabeth will adopt a two-seat convertible body style, sharing some of the dramatic proportions of the EXP 100 GT concept.

The name Bacalar comes from a lake in Mexico, a popular tourist destination that’s also known as the Lagoon of Seven Colors thanks to its bright blue and turquoise waters. The new Bentley Mulliner Bacalar is expected to be powered by the British brand’s 6.0-liter W12 engine, which produces 626 HP under the bonnet of the Continental GT and Flying Spur.
According to Bentley’s short announcement, the bespoke Mulliner model will also feature sustainable and ethically-sourced materials blended with a “beautiful yet dramatic design”.
Mulliner is expected to keep the production numbers of the Bacalar down to 10-12 units, each with a price tag of around $2 million. Suffice to say that Mulliner will give those lucky few customers all the options imaginable, allowing them to spec their cars however they want.
Mulliner apparently wants to build more one-off models in the near future, and the upcoming Bacalar is just the beginning.
