Among the selection at Classic Car Auctions‘ forthcoming Classic Car and Restoration Show Sale 2020 auction in the UK, is a 1987 BMW M3 E30 Coupe that’s been described as “jaw-dropping” and “absolutely remarkable”.

The auction will take place on the 28th and 29th of March, and the classic Bimmer is expected to fetch anywhere between £40,000 – £45,000 ($51,000 – $58,000), meaning it could cost just as much as a brand new 2020 BMW M2 Coupe.

In terms of mileage, it’s done 58,867 km (35,640 miles) and was imported from Japan in 2015. It also comes with a comprehensive service history and a recent major UK service. It’s only done 400 km (248 miles) in the past four years and comes in left-hand drive.

“These are fabulous cars and we are very excited to see what they will achieve when they cross the block at the end of March. Last year the BMW E30s did exceptionally well and this one will be no different, it is superb,” stated Classic Car Auctions manager, Gary Dunne.

The exterior of this E30 M3 is finished in Triple Black, while both the interior and the engine bay look extremely clean. The car also received a lot score of 108/135, which has been described as impressive.

Power comes from a naturally aspirated 2.3-liter four-cylinder engine, mated to a 5-speed manual gearbox. When new, the engine generated around 200 HP, which let’s face it, is nothing compared to the 405 HP you’d get in the previously-mentioned 2020 M2 Competition. Alas, the latter isn’t exactly a classic.
