Toyota has launched a limited edition version of the Land Cruiser in Australia, named the Land Cruiser Sahara Horizon.

Based on the range-topping LC200 Sahara, it’s available in a limited run of just 400 units, each one priced at AU$129,090, which equals to US$86,335 at the current exchange rates, excluding on-road costs and other fees.

The SUV features bespoke updates on the outside that include a unique grille with dark finish and black headlight and smoked fog lamp surrounds, as well as a few updates on the inside.

The semi-aniline leather seats with special stitching and ‘Land Cruiser’ embossing in the backrest, leather-wrapped steering wheel with heating function, unique door card stitching, black headliner with chrome accents, ‘Horizon’ badging and the ‘Land Cruiser’ logo projected onto the ground upon opening the front and rear doors are included.

It also gets LED lights, 18-inch alloy wheels, moonroof, 4-zone climate control, heated and ventilated front seats with power adjustment, premium audio system, sat-nav and others, alongside the Toyota Safety Sense pack of driver assistance gear.

“Toyota’s history in Australia started with the original Land Cruisers brought into the country to work on the Snowy Mountains Hydro Scheme back in 1958, and since then, Land Cruiser has played a role in the lives of people across the country from the bush to the beach”, said Toyota Australia VP of Sales and Marketing, Sean Hanley. “This new special edition Horizon model offers Land Cruiser customers stylish and more distinctive visual appeal in a vehicle that remains as capable and competent on and off the road, wherever they choose to travel.”

Powering the new Land Cruiser Sahara Horizon is a 4.5-liter turbodiesel V8 that develops 200 kW (272 PS / 268 HP) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque, available between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm. The mill drives all four wheels through a 6-speed automatic transmission, complete with low-range ratios.
