When the red lights at a railroad crossing start to flash, you’re meant to stop. Sounds simple, right? Well, it is, at least for most motorists. However, there are some drivers that choose to risk their lives in driving across tracks even when they shouldn’t. Take this utility truck driver, for example.

The following clip was filmed from the dashcam of a truck in the small city of Orrville, Ohio. The truck driver filming does the right thing and stops at the crossing. However, the driver of a utility truck coming in the opposite direction decides their time is too precious to stop and opts to drive right through.

While we’re sure the driver of the utility truck thought they might be able to slide under the barriers before they started to close, they were unable to do so and the crane on the back of the truck ends of hitting the barrier. The broken barrier can then be seen lying on the ground as the truck sneaks through.

While no one was injured in the incident, that doesn’t mean driving through a railroad crossing like this is a good idea. The driver of the truck could have suffered some kind of mechanical issue when crossing or perhaps stalled the vehicle and been left stranded in the middle of the tracks. Had that happened, the train may not have had the time to stop, potentially resulting in a massive collision between the pair.
