It’s never a good idea to run from the police and that’s especially true if your driving skills aren’t top-notch.

A Corvette driver recently learned that the hard way and now they paying the price.

In the video, we can see what appears to be a fifth-generation Corvette fly by a dashcam-equipped vehicle. There’s no word on how fast they were going, but they’re definitely moving and this caused someone to remark “good lord.”

While a speeding Corvette isn’t too unusual, things take an interesting turn approximately 20 seconds later when a Police Interceptor Utility comes into view. It’s chasing after the Corvette, but the crossover is no match for the sports car.

Of course, as the saying goes, slow and steady wins the race. Despite a massive lead, the driver of the Corvette apparently lost control as they entered a slight bend in a construction zone. While we can’t be certain, it looks like the car hit a construction barrel and then left the roadway before the exit sign.

The Corvette then continued traveling through the grass before coming to a rest near an overpass. It’s unclear if the driver got stuck or simply decided to call it quits but, whatever the case, they were greeted by the pursuing officer.

There’s no word on what happened next, but the driver is likely facing a long list of charges. In Texas, where the incident happened, fleeing and eluding is a misdemeanor which can be punishable by up to a $4,000 (£3,233 / €3,683) fine and up to a year in jail.
