Regardless of how much you pay for a car, rest assured that when you are handed the keys to it, the paintwork will not be perfect. That’s where car detailers come in.

With the right amount of training and the correct tools, detailers can easily remove any minor blemishes and the dreaded ‘orange peel’ you often find in the paintwork. This video from British company Topaz Detailing shows a gorgeous 991.2-generation Porsche 911 GT3 RS undergoing a comprehensive paint correction.

This particular GT3 RS is finished with the optional Weissach Package and painted in Signal Yellow, offered exclusively through the marque’s Paint to Sample program. This is understood to be the only 991.2 GT3 RS on earth finished this color and it looks absolutely gorgeous.

Topaz Detailing says it spent roughly 100 hours working on the car. Much of that time was spent dry sanding and wet sanding away imperfections in the clear coat. From there, the car gets polished and then had every single painted surface and carbon fiber part fitted with a paint protection film. As if that wasn’t enough, a host of exterior parts of the car which left the factory made from black plastic, such as the front splitter and side skirts, were re-skinned in real carbon fiber to match the various stock carbon fiber parts.

We’re not sure how much a detail like this costs, but we suspect the owner paid at least a few thousand dollars (or pounds, in this case) to have the car’s exterior perfected. As a way to add value to the car and ensure it looks this good for years to come, it was probably a wise investment.
