Based on the soundtrack alone, one might think that this is some kind of a motorsport event. But it isn’t, as what we’re dealing with here is a spy video of the new Porsche 911 GT3, which also briefly shows the upcoming Mercedes-AMG GT R Black Series (among other cars).

Filmed where else but at the Nurburgring, the German sports car put its advanced aero agenda to good use, which was partially hidden beneath the camouflage. It includes redesigned bumpers, big diffuser at the back with prominent center exhaust pipes, a pair of air intakes on the hood and that big wing that will be absent from the Touring variant.

Besides knowing all sorts of new aero tricks, the upcoming 911 GT3 will boast a more rigid chassis with re-tuned suspension and beefier brakes. This will allow it to eat apexes for lunch, while motivation is likely to be coming from an updated version of the naturally-aspirated 4.0-liter flat-six engine. The mill will be equipped with a particulate filter that will help lower the emissions, and is understood to kick out as much as 520 horsepower.

It should have a red-line at around 9,000 rpm, and while purists will be glad to hear that a six-speed manual transmission will be part of the package, those who are not fond of changing gears by hand will get to order it with a dual-clutch auto ‘box.

In all likelihood, the new 911 GT3 is a few months away from being shown to the world, as the premiere is expected to take place before the end of 2020.
