ATS will finally return to the motorsport world with the new Corsa RR Turbo, a racer designed to go easy on a team’s budget.

Offered in two versions, the Clubsport and Serie Carbonio, it starts at €132,000 and €164,900 ($144,990-$181,127) respectively in Europe. Both models are eligible for racing in various events all over the globe, but the latter is described as “an all-in package to have the maximum performance”.

The manufacturer claims that the Corsa RR Turbo is far superior to regular GT3 cars, which are 3-4 times more expensive, in terms of performance, and has an average maintenance cost of €2.30 ($2.5) per kilometer, compared to the €5.80 ($6.4) you’d spend on a GT4 Group car.

Tipping the scales at 1,763 lbs (800 kg) and offering 600 horsepower, the new racer can be ordered with several optional extras, such as a full carbon fiber body work, carbon-ceramic brakes with 4-piston titanium calipers instead of the standard Brembo set, three-way adjustable suspension, forged wheels, quick-lift air jack system and others. Tractive Adjustable electronic shock absorbers for the pushrod and pull rod suspension, traction control, assisted gearshifts and so on are also available.

The Italian company will build 30 cars each year, featuring FIA homologation for racing series, endurance championships and hill climbs, including the VLN Nurburgring, GT Light Class, British Hill Climb Championship, WERC series, Trans Am, SCCA Hill Climb, Formula X Italian Series, UK Dunlop Endurance Championship and many others.
