The Acura CDX has been updated for 2020 in China, although you’d be hard-pressed to notice the differences.

Visually, there are no obvious exterior design alterations that have been made to the SUV since it was first unveiled at the Beijing Auto Show back in 2016. Consequently, the front end continues to sport sharp headlights, a pointed grille, and fog lights and DRLs neatly incorporated into the lower air intakes.

What is new for 2020 is the Acura CDX A-Spec variant. This sporty and more aggressive version of the CDX includes a blacked-out front grille and grille surround while also adopting unique lower intakes and plastic trim.

Elsewhere, the A-Spec model includes two-tone wing mirrors, distinctive 18-inch wheels with Michelin Primacy 3ST tires, and unique badging. The styling modifications are particularly obvious from the rear and include a spoiler stretching off from the roof, dual circular tailpipes, an aggressive diffuser, and a bespoke rear bumper. It all looks rather mean.

Inside, the CDX A-Spec model, as well as lesser variants, feature a handful of updates over the outgoing model. Most notably, some subtle tweaks have been made to the center console and the gear selector buttons. Among the key features found within the SUV is a Head-Up display, paddle shifters, and an 8.0-inch central touchscreen infotainment system.

A host of safety systems come standard across the range. These include forward-collision warning, a collision mitigation braking system, lane departure warning, lane-keeping assist, lane offset suppression, active cruise control, and intelligent traffic sign recognition.

Autohome reports that a total of eight different variants will be offered although a look at the Chinese website for the Acura CDX only shows four trim levels, excluding the A-Spec. All are powered by a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission. Order books for the new Acura CDX opened on June 5 in China with prices starting at 230,000 yuan ($32,465).
