If you have some spare time on your hands you’ll be pleased to know that the online configurator for the new BMW 4-Series has just gone online.

While the first-generation BMW 4-Series looked nearly identical to the 3-Series it was based on, albeit with two fewer doors, the new 4-Series looks quite a lot different than the G20-generation 3-Series that’s on the market. It has a far sleeker design and is clearly distinguished from all other BMW models currently in production.

BMW’s German, French, and UK websites have all been updated with the new 4-Series configurator while others, such as the U.S. site, still feature the old car. A host of different engine options are offered through the configurators depending on what options will be available in that country. The UK has among the largest array of variants, including the 420i, 430i, and 420d in rear-wheel and xDrive configurations, but misses out on the flagship M440i xDrive Coupe that Germany gets.

The car manufacturer’s online configurators are often quite comprehensive and it is no different with the new 4-Series Coupe. Color options depend on the market and the 430i M Sport Pro Edition Coupe from the UK (pictured) is only available in Dravit Grey Metallic and BMW Individual Tanzanite Blue II metallic.

Powering entry-level 420i models in Europe is a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder that produces 184 hp while the more powerful 430i also uses a 2.0-liter turbo-four but has 258 hp. The aforementioned BMW M440i xDrive set to be available in some markets, including the United States, has a turbo’d 3.0-liter straight-six with 369 hp and is supplemented by a mild-hybrid 48V starter-generator adding a further 11 hp.
