Mercedes-Benz has rejuvenated its B-Class lineup in the UK with a plug-in hybrid derivative, dubbed the B250e.

Available to order in the United Kingdom, it will be offered in three trim levels, the AMG Line Executive, AMG Line Premium and AMG Line Premium Plus, with pricing starting at £35,280 (equal to $44,797 at current exchange rates), £36,780 ($46,701) and £38,280 ($48,606) respectively.

Standard features include MBUX infotainment system, automatic climate control, heated front seats, wireless smartphone charging and integration, leather and microfiber upholstery, privacy rear glass and 18-inch wheels. The AMG Line Premium adds digital gauges, augmented reality for navigation, illuminated door sills, ambient lighting, keyless entry&go and more premium sound system. The AMG Line Premium Plus brings the LED headlights, panoramic sunroof, Traffic Sign Assist and memory settings for the front seats.

Customers can spec the B250e AMG Line Premium Plus with the only standalone option, the £1,495 ($1,898) Driving Assistance Package. This adds safety gear such as the active braking assist with cross-traffic function, active blind spot assist, active distance assist distronic, active lane-change assist, active emergency stop assist, active speed limit assist, active steering assist, evasive steering assist, pre-safe plus and route-based speed adaptation.

The plug-in hybrid version of the compact minivan has a zero-emission range of up to 42 miles (68 km), provided by the 10.6 kWh battery pack that features a 7.4 kW AC on-board charger. Power comes from the 1.3-liter turbocharged gasoline engine that makes 156 HP (158 PS / 116 kW) and 170 lb-ft (230 Nm) of torque, and 100 HP (101 PS / 74 kW) and 243 lb-ft (330 Nm) electric motor. The powertrain has a total system output of 215 HP (218 PS / 160 kW) and 332 lb-ft (450 Nm), channeled to the wheels through an eight-speed automatic transmission.
