The Porsche Cayman GT4 has been a favorite of car enthusiasts from the moment it was introduced, and the second-generation 718 variant is even better than the first iteration.
First, there is the powertrain. Driving the sports car is a 4.0-liter naturally aspirated flat-six that pumps out 414 hp at 7,600 rpm and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque between 5,000 and 6,800 rpm. Despite what you may think, this is not a detuned version of the 4.0-liter flat-six that powers the 911 GT3 and GT3 RS and is instead derived from the twin-turbo 3.0-liter unit used by the 992-generation 911.

Like any true sports car, the Cayman GT4 comes with a six-speed manual transmission and, at the moment, this is the only transmission it is available with, although an optional dual-clutch PDK is on the way. Power is sent to the rear wheels and Porsche claims the car will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.4 seconds and a top speed of 188 mph (302 km/h).
Doug DeMuro recently had the opportunity to get an close look at the GT4 and take it for a drive. Unsurprisingly, he is a big fan of it, calling it one of the greatest sports cars that has ever been built.
As always from DeMuro, the review focuses mostly on the exterior and interior designs of the sports car and only includes a few minutes of actual driving footage. Nevertheless, it is well worth a watch if you’re a fan of the Cayman and/or Porsche in general.
