The 2020 Ford Focus has just been updated for the Australian market, bringing with it a host of upgrades and improvements.

New to the Aussie market are the 2020 Focus ST-Line and Focus Active models, while the Ambiente, ST-Line Wagon and Titanium variants are no longer offered. Both the 2020MY ST-Line hatch and Active utilize a 1.5-liter turbocharged EcoBoost powertrain with 180 hp and 177 lb-ft (240 Nm) that is paired to an automatic transmission and front-wheel drive. This engine returns 6.4 l/100 km (36.7 mpg).

All Focus ST-Line and Focus Active models come standard with FordPass Connect that includes convenient remote vehicle functionality and connected services. The FordPass App also brings several services designed to simplify the ownership experience of customers, including roadside assistance, the ability to schedule a service online and for owner’s to check their recent service history and owners’ manual while also providing a convenient way to get in touch with a ‘Ford Guide’ who can assist with any queries.

Elsewhere, 2020 Ford Focus models come with front parking sensors, which were previously optional. Other standard equipment includes a 180-degree reversing camera and an 8.0-inch infotainment system with Ford’s SYNC3 system that includes Apple Car Play and Android Auto connectivity.

As in overseas markets, the Focus ST-Line is differentiated from lesser models by its unique styling, lowered sports suspension and custom interior detailing. The car also includes multi-link rear suspension. The Focus Active, on the other hand, aims to be the most versatile variant in the Focus family and includes Trail and Slippery drive roads while also including upgraded lighting and multi-link rear suspension.

Both the 2020 Ford Focus ST-Line and Focus Active start at AU$30,990 (US$21,501).
