Maserati has dropped a final teaser of the 2021 Ghibli Hybrid before the car’s online unveiling scheduled for July 16th at 1:00 pm CET / 7:00 am ET.

This teaser showcases the silhouette of the hybrid sedan, confirming that it will have the same overall shape as ICE-powered Ghibli models. Admittedly, the bolts of lightning in the image do make it quite striking.

It is understood the Ghibli Hybrid will launch with all the same visual modifications as the rest of the facelifted range. Consequently, we expect to see revised front and rear ends that will include new bumpers and lights. While the exterior of the design of the outgoing Ghibli has started to show its age, it is in the interior where the car is really starting to look dated.

With this in mind, the Italian car manufacturer can be expected to radically overhaul the interior with things like an enlarged infotainment system and a fully digital gauge cluster. The infotainment system should also make use of new and improved software.

Specifics about the Maserati Ghibli Hybrid’s powertrain are currently unclear. While Maserati is simply referring to the model as a ‘Hybrid,’ it is expected to be a plug-in hybrid, the first of its kind from the brand. We are expecting the vehicle to land with a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine that is coupled with an electric motor. It is hard to know for sure just how much power the car will have but a combined figure around 325 hp is looking likely. The vehicle should also be able to travel a short distance on all-electric power.
