A rare 1998 Subaru Impreza 22B STi has appeared for sale in the UK with near-delivery mileage and an eye-watering price tag.

In recent years, Japanese performance cars from the latest 1990s and early 2000s have started to soar in value and, as one of the rarest cars of its kind, the Impreza 22B STi is quickly gathering momentum as one of the most expensive. Just how expensive? Well, this example has an asking price of £295,000 ($370,600).

The car has been listed up for sale from Appreciating Classics in Norfolk and is said to be a one-owner car. Thankfully it sports no mods and comes with original floor mats, original plastic over the rear seats, original kick plate protection and original paintwork.

This car was purchased as a family investment back in 1998 and imported new from Japan. The 22B was only driven on a couple of occasions when new and since, has been stored away most of its life, but regularly started to make sure it still runs properly.

With so few miles on the clock, it’s no surprise that both the exterior and interior are said to be in near-perfect condition. To prepare the car for sale, Appreciating Classics detailed the paint. As for the cabin, it shows no signs of wear and still has the “1998 smell of a Subaru Impreza.”

Powering the Impreza 22B STi is a 2.2-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with forged pistons, metal head gaskets, bespoke inlet valves and sodium-filled exhaust valves. It put out a claimed 276 hp and 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) of torque from the factory, but is thought to actually have much more than that.
