Lamborghini Has Already Built 10,000 Urus SUVs Two Years After Launch

Only two years after its launch, the Lamborghini Urus super SUV has reached the 10,000th production milestone.

The plant in Sant’ Agata Bolognese built the model with chassis number 10,000 for a Russian customer. The milestone vehicle comes in the new Nero Noctis Matt paint, combined with the carbon fiber package and two-tone Ad Personam interior in black and orange, complete with carbon fiber components.

Since it was presented in December 2017, the Urus has made a significant contribution to Lamborghini’s sales increase. In 2019, the SUV’s first full year on the market, 4,962 units were delivered to customers, accounted for 61 percent of Lamborghini’s total sales last year.

In 2018, the automaker delivered 1,761 Urus SUVs, as the model launched in July that year. Using basic arithmetics, this means that Lamborghini sold approximately 3,277 units so far in 2020. Provided that the same pace is maintained, the Urus could end the year with more than 6,000 deliveries.

The super SUV is built at Manifattura Lamborghini, an assembly line dedicated entirely to the Urus. To make room for the new facility, Automobili Lamborghini doubled its headquarters site from 80,000 to 160,000 square meters. Based on the so-called Factory 4.0 model, the SUV assembly line integrates new production technologies to support workers throughout the assembly operations.

Manifattura Lamborghini is said to set a new production model benchmark characterized by modularity, flexibility, and maximum personalization. In 2019, a paint shop dedicated entirely to the Urus was opened. As with the production line, the new paint shop adopts the Factory 4.0 model, which integrates new technologies including AI.

In June 2020, Lamborghini presented a new color collection for the Super SUV, the Urus Pearl Capsule. Featuring a two-tone exterior look, it offers ultra-bright pearlescent shades with four-layer paint, in line with Lamborghini color tradition.

Giallo Inti (yellow), Arancio Borealis (orange), and Verde Mantis (green) are combined with glossy black roof, rear diffuser, spoiler lip and other details. The Urus Pearl Capsule is an optional extra for Model Year 2021, offered together with a wide range of new colors and features.
