Tesla has won over many fans with intriguing lighting displays and ‘dances’ that its various models can do. As it turns out, one of Tesla’s new rivals out of China, Xpeng, has developed an enthusiastic light mode for its new P7 sedan.
While recently testing out an Xpeng P7 prototype, YouTuber Bjorn Nyland enabled the light show mode set to Piano Concerto by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg.
The display lasts for just over 1 minute and makes full use of the P7’s full-width light bar at the front end. It is set perfectly in time with the music and at the start, even replicates the strokes on a keyboard by lighting up individual LEDs within the light bar. As the music starts to heat-up, the Xpeng’s turn signals and main headlight units join in on the party, putting on a really cool display.

Of course, the Xpeng P7 is about a lot more than just a cool lighting array.
Powering the EV is an 80.9 kWh battery pack. Sitting at the base of the range is a rear-wheel drive model that has 353 miles (568 km) of range in the New European Driving Cycle (NEDC). A long-range rear-wheel drive version is also offered with 439 miles (706 km) of range. Should customers want the ultimate in performance, they can opt for an all-wheel drive variant that will hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in a rapid 4.3 seconds. Unfortunately, no range details have been offered up for this model.
