The Ferrari F8 Spider is incredibly fast and might just be one of the finest convertible supercars that money can currently buy. But is it good enough to win over Matt Farah?
When Ferrari unveiled the F8 Tributo at the Geneva Motor Show in 2019, the world took notice as it was launched as a direct rival to the McLaren 720S, a supercar which up until that point had easily outperformed its rivals.
All it takes is a quick glance at the spec sheet to understand that the F8 Tributo is chasing after the McLaren. The F8 is powered by a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that produces 710 hp, the same figure as the McLaren. This engine is also good for 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque from 3,250 rpm and allows the F8, in both Coupe and Spider forms, to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 3 seconds.

Horsepower, torque, and acceleration figures like those result in performance that truly boggles the mind, particularly when driven on the street. Interestingly, Farah adds that the F8 is extremely easy and manageable to drive and is just as good as a daily driver as a BMW M3. It truly is a go-anywhere type of supercar that is actually useable.
It isn’t cheap, however. Prices for the F8 Spider start at approximately $297,000 in the United States. The example tested by Farah had an incredible $100,000 worth of options, bringing its sticker price up to $397,000. While some of the options are worth the money, many that Ferrari offers are truly egregious, such as asking customers $4,219 for Apple CarPlay.
