Hot on the heels of the first Ferrari Roma reviews being published online, we’ve stumbled across this video that showcases just how quick Maranello’s latest grand tourer is.
Powering the Roma is a 3.9-liter twin-turbocharged V8 that delivers 612 hp and 560 lb-ft (760 Nm) of torque and is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch transmission sending power to the rear wheels. While the version of this engine that powers the F8 Tributo has roughly 100 hp more, that doesn’t mean the Roma is slow – far from it, actually.

According to Ferrari, the Roma requires just 3.4 seconds to hit 62 mph (100 km/h) and, in this video, we discover that it only needs about 8.5 seconds to hit 124 mph (200 km/h). Such a figure means it accelerates just as rapidly as the lighter (and mid-engined) McLaren 570S, which is very impressive for a GT that is chasing after different buyers than the 570S. Given enough room, Ferrari claims the Roma can exceed 199 mph (320 km/h), so it doesn’t lack in that department either.
Of course, it is not just straight-line performance that makes the Roma impressive. Recent reviews have revealed that it is much better to drive than the Portofino and offers agile and enjoyable handling characteristics. Moreover, the Roma has a striking and unique appearance and looks a lot different than any other modern Ferrari.
