Bugatti faces an uncertain future, but that hasn’t stopped the company from teasing a mysterious world premiere.

While the automaker is keeping details under wraps, they released a teaser image which shows the rear end of the upcoming model. Details are hard to make out, but the car has X-shaped taillights and a unique rear end.

The mystery model appears unlike anything else in the Bugatti lineup and company didn’t say much about the car other than “What if …?” That seems to suggest the company is planning something radical and unexpected, but that remains to be seen.

However, TheSuperCarBlog is reporting the automaker will introduce a track-focused model that is heavily inspired by the Bugatti Vision Le Mans concept. While they initially reported it would be electric, that no longer seems to be the case.

While everything should be taken with a grain of salt, the publication noted Bugatti recently highlighted their racing pedigree and said “The connection to aeronautics and to particularly light and uncompromising racing cars has existed at Bugatti for over 110 years … and the story is by no means over yet.”

There’s no word on when the mystery model will be unveiled, but it is expected to debut later this month. Assuming it’s not a one-off, it likely be very expensive and very exclusive.
