Automobili Pininfarina announced its partnership with Deutsche Telecom for the Battista’s connected services, which will go online in more than 50 countries worldwide.

Every Pininfarina Battista electric hypercar will feature an embedded SIM and roaming technology to ensure optimum connectivity worldwide. With these components and Deutsche Telecom’s network and roaming traffic steering logic, Automobili Pininfarina claims that the Battista won’t suffer from communication blackspots, even when owners cross international borders.

This makes the Battista the world’s first globally-connected hypercar, at least according to Pininfarina. The system will feature over-the-air updates, to keep the electric hypercar equipped with the latest software.

The system will be able to remotely update no less than 26 individual electronic control modules, covering everything from the electric powertrain, the advanced safety, and driving dynamics systems, to infotainment and digital services. The software updates will be able to download either via WiFi when parked within range in the garage or through the embedded SIM on the road.

“All of these elements of connectivity contribute to our seamless Life on Board Concept,” said Paolo Dellacha, Chief Product and Engineering Officer at Automobili Pininfarina. “Everything from the driver-orientated user-experience to the convenience features such as the global roaming and OTA updates have been developed and engineered to bring heightened convenience to our luxury hyper GT.”

The Pininfarina Battista’s digital concierge experience features the so-called Smart Diagnostics technology, which monitors and scans the vehicle for potential issues before they arise. If an issue is detected that cannot be dealt with a software patch, Automobili Pininfarina will send one of its engineers to resolve it wherever the vehicle is in the world.

Pininfarina’s 1,873 HP electric missile will also feature a state-of-the-art infotainment system, featuring three touchscreen displays to deliver all the vehicle’s key information, including telemetry, dynamic functions, and information on media, navigation and more. Owners will also get a specially developed smartphone app, which will allow them to do things like remotely lock and unlock the vehicle, view telemetry, check the state of charge and monitor the location of their Battista.
