Regardless, the R1S Launch Edition will be based on the mid-range Adventure variant, itself priced at $77,500 also and landing in January 2022. With this in mind, the R1S Launch Edition includes an off-road upgrade with reinforced underbody protection, natural-grained ash wood interior surfaces, perforated vegan leather, heated and ventilated seats, Chilewich floor mats, and more. Distinct features of the R1S Launch Edition will include unique interior badging, available 20-inch and 22-inch wheels and a special Launch Green color option. Sitting at the base of the Rivian R1S range is the Explore variant, which starts at $70,000.

Rivian R1S and R1T Launch Edition

As for the R1T pickup truck, it will be sold in the same Launch Edition, Adventure, and Explore guises with virtually identical specifications to the corresponding R1S variants. However, prices for the R1T Launch Edition and Adventure start at $75,000, $2,500 less than the R1S. The R1T Launch Edition can be ordered with the same Launch Green color option. The entry-level R1T Explore will be available from $67,500 and has a manual tonneau cover as opposed to the powered cover of the Launch Edition and Adventure.

The Rivian R1T Launch Edition will be the first model from the EV startup to reach the hands of customers, with deliveries starting in June 2021, while the other variants will aunch in January 2022.
