The original Hyundai Kona was quite the head-turner and with the newly facelifted model, the South Korean car manufacturer has refined the quirky design and made it that little more appealing.

As showcased in this video from Asian Petrolhead on YouTube, the new Hyundai Kona’s front end includes redesigned LED daytime running lights, a new lower bumper, a bespoke black grille, skid plate, and new main headlights. We were quite fond of the fun and intriguing looks of the pre-facelift Kona and think Hyundai has done a good job making it that touch more modern for the 2021 model year.

Complementing the front fascia changes are some alterations to the rear, including new taillights with revised graphics. A host of new 16-, 17-, and 18-inch wheels will also be offered throughout the range.

One key new update for the 2021 Hyundai Kona is the availability of an N Line model. This variant is also featured in this clip and stands out thanks to a unique fascia that includes three air slots above the grille. Other styling alterations made to the Kona N Line include unique rocker panels, 18-inch wheels, a rear diffuser, and N-style fins.

A handful of engines are offered for the 2021 Kona, depending on the market. The flagship powertrain is a 1.6-liter T-GDI four-cylinder with 194 hp and coupled to a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission. Also on offer is a 1.6-liter Smartstream diesel with mild-hybrid tech and 134 hp, a 1.0-liter T-GDI Smartstream with 118 hp, and a 1.6-liter GDI engine with an electric motor making a combined 138 hp in the Kona Hybrid.
