Following the reveal of the 2021 Lucid Air EV in September, Lucid Motors is opening its first East Coast studio in Miami. The Miami “Lucid Studio” (sounds like a Crack-less den for Christian rock bands) will be the first of many, according to the company.

“The opening of our first East Coast Studio in Miami signifies a remarkable milestone for Lucid, marking the expansion of our retail network across the United States,” said Peter Rawlinson, CEO. “I’m confident [the Air] will resonate with Floridians attracted to the benefits a state-of-the-art EV can have upon their family, their community, and, indeed, the world.”

Lucid is hardly the first to take this approach with sales, with brands like Tesla and Polestar taking a similar tack. These spaces are like showrooms, designed to give customers face time with a brand’s vehicles but are not, strictly speaking, a dealership.

In Lucid’s case, the Studio’s will also include examples of the materials you can choose and a 4K virtual reality configurator. The configurator allows you to sit in the car you build and experience what it would be like in three simulated dimensions.

At its reveal in September, Lucid projected a range of more than 500 miles, a 0-60 time of as little as 2.5 seconds, and prices starting at $69,900. The launch edition, the Lucid Air Grand Touring, will start at $161,500 and will give you 1030 hp and 503 miles of range (predicted).

Lucid also plans to open another Studio in West Palm Beach early next year.
