Basketball superstar LeBron James recently had the opportunity to check out the new GMC Hummer EV and he seems very impressed with it, not that that is surprising as he is a brand ambassador for the automaker.

This clip from GMC shows James being presented with the all-electric pickup truck in his garage before he drives it out into his driveway and checks it out in more detail. He describes it as “sleek and bold,” an apt description for this beast.

The GMC Hummer EV will officially launch this fall in flagship Edition 1 guise. This model was sold out in just ten minutes after being unveiled last year despite its $112,595 price tag and features a tri-motor electric powertrain delivering a cool 1,000 hp, allowing the truck to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just three seconds while travelling more than 350 miles (563 km) on a single charge. It seems likely that James will be among the first to take delivery of the truck.

In 2022, a more affordable version of the Hummer EV will launch, dubbed the 3X and priced from $99,995. This model will also feature three motors but power will be capped to 800 hp and the range will be reduced to around 300 miles (483 km). GMC will follow up this model with the 2X variant in spring of 2023 and sporting two electric motors to make for a combined 625 hp. It will start at $89,995 and have a range exceeding 300 miles. The entry-level version will land in 2024 with the same dual-motor setup but slightly less range.
