Nissan has confirmed February 18 as the official unveiling date of the new generation Qashqai which will (likely) be sold under the Rogue Sport nameplate in North America.

Set to be presented during an internal event that will be streamed over the web by the automaker’s Europe YouTube channel at 11:00 a.m. CET (5:00 a.m. ET), the compact SUV will feature a new design, modern technologies and electrified powertrains.

The adaptive LED headlights, with a thin DRL strip above, will flank the slightly bigger V-motion grille. The overall design is more angular, reminding of the second-generation Juke, and even if the prototypes we’ve spied in the past were heavily disguised, we could still see that the proportions should remain the same, albeit with improved cabin and boot space.

Inside, it will feature a new infotainment system that has been pushed further up, with a 9-inch display, as well as a 12.3-inch TFT screen behind the steering wheel. A 10.8-inch head-up display will also be integrated, while elsewhere, future customers can expect a wireless charging pad with a tray for large smartphones, ambient lighting, a premium sound system, heated seats and steering wheel, massage function for the front seats, and Nappa leather upholstery, though most will be available as options.

We don’t know yet what will power the new Rogue Sport that will launch in North America, but in Europe, the Qashqai will use electrified powertrains with range extenders. In a premiere for the series, the all-new Qashqai won’t be offered with a diesel option, but you can read all about the engine family here.
