Following the launch of Project Cars 3 last summer, Slightly Mad Studios and mobile experts GAMEVIL announced the launch date of Project CARS GO, a racing game for your smartphone or tablet.

Like Project Cars 3, and most mobile racing games for that matter, it will be a more casual experience than the sim racers that defined the series’ early entries. Available on both iOS and Android, the one-touch racing game will be downloadable for free.

Despite being a little more arcadey in its gameplay, Slightly Mad Studios is promising real cars and locations. The Ford GT LM GT3, the BAC Mono, as well as a selection of classic F1 and endurance cars, are all shown in the game’s beta testing trailer.

Players will also be able to test their mettle and their metal on real-world racetracks like Brands Hatch, Monza, Laguna Seca, and more. Drag racing, meanwhile, will take place in locations like Las Vegas, Long Beach, and Singapore.

Along with straight-line racing, players will be able to race in World Tour more, Daily and Manufacturer Invitational mode, Time Trial mode, and more.

“Project CARS GO is a balanced mobile racing game which appeals to both die-hard racing fans and the casual mobile gaming audience,” said Kyu Lee, President at GAMEVIL COM2US USA. “The streamlined One Touch gameplay combined with real-life racetracks, cars, and physics offers a unique mobile racing experience. Alongside the racing experts at Slightly Mad Studios, we have entered the final stretch for Project CARS GO. We can’t wait to share the final product come March.”

If all this sounds fun to you, you can pre-register and pre-download the game now. Players who pre-register will get 100 Diamonds, which are the in-game currency. The full launch will take place on March 23.
