The new Isuzu D-Max has finally reached the UK’s shores, where it is available in three body styles, single, extended and double cab, and three distinct versions, named the Business, All-Purpose and Adventure.

Local pricing starts at £20,999 ($29,479) OTR, and all models are powered by a diesel engine that meets the Euro 6D emission standard and develops 164 PS (162 HP / 121 kW) and 360 Nm (266 lb-ft) of torque. It is coupled to a standard six-speed manual or an optional six-speed automatic transmission, with two- and four-wheel drive, and the pickup truck has a maximum payload of 1,120 kg (2,469 lbs) and a towing capability of 3.5 tons (7,716 lbs).

Part of the Business range, the Utility trim level is the base specification and features hard-wearing black plastic bumpers, side mirror casings and door handles, steel wheels and vinyl flooring. The automatic headlights with high beam assist, rain-sensing windscreen wipers, speed-sensitive power steering, stop/start system and DAB radio are standard.

It also gets the ADAS (Advanced Driver Assist Systems) bundle, with autonomous emergency braking, lane departure warning and prevention, intelligent speed limiter and traffic sign recognition. The double cab adds blind spot monitoring, rear cross traffic alert and emergency lane keeping.

The DL20 and DL40 (‘DL’ signifies the standard diff-lock and ‘20’ and ‘40’ stand for the model hierarchy) are part of the All-Purpose range and can be ordered with the automatic gearbox, which adds the ADAS functionality of the lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

The DL20 has front fog lamps, rear parking sensors, body-colored bumpers, silver door handles, grey radiator grille, 18-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats and front center armrest. The DL40 brings bi-LED headlights, LED fog lamps, DRLs and taillights, chrome grille, silver side steps, front parking sensors and reversing camera. The keyless entry, 7-inch touchscreen display with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and dual-zone climate control are part of the offering on the DL40.

Distinguished by the gunmetal detailing on the outside, automatic headlight leveling, 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, auto-dimming rearview mirror, leather upholstery and branded carpet mats, the V-Cross is part of the Adventure range.

The Utility versions of the new D-Max can be ordered in Onyx Black, Obsidian Grey, Mercury Silver and Splash White. The DL20 is available with Spinel Red, Valencia Orange is offered from the DL40 and Pearl White is limited to the V-Cross.

The first units of Isuzu’s new pickup truck will arrive in UK showrooms starting next month, with a 5-year/125,000-mile (201,168-km) warranty.
