The 2021 Ram 1500 TRX is arguably the most insane pickup truck ever created. As far as Hennessey Performance is concerned, though, there is still room for improvement.

The Texas tuner recently took delivery of their very own TRX, but before starting any powertrain modifications, they strapped it onto the dyno for a series of power runs. It delivered some very impressive numbers.

Ram says the TRX’s 6.2-liter supercharged V8 is good for 702 hp and 650 lb-ft (881 Nm) of torque and on the dyno it delivered 583 hp and 570 lb-ft (773 Nm) through the rear wheels, representing a drivetrain loss of about 17 per cent, right in line with what you would expect.

Hennessey’s upgraded TRX will be dubbed the Mammoth and will feature an upgraded supercharger and pullers. The tuner will also replace the headers, add a high-flow exhaust, and optimize the ECU. The end result will be an output of 1,012 hp and 969 lb-ft (1,314 Nm) of torque, allowing the truck to hit 60 mph (96 km/h) in just 3.2 seconds.

Other upgrades included with the Mammoth package will be a lifted suspension system, a custom front bumper with LED lights, 20-inch 10-spoke wheels, 35 inch off-road tires, and a front suspension leveling kit.

Hennessey won’t stop here with the Ram 1500 TRX. The tuner has confirmed they will create a 6×6 version of the pickup truck with Mopar’s insane 7.0-liter Hellephant V8 crate engine that will be modified to produce 1,200 hp.
