Driving brings with it all kinds of risks but one thing you do not expect is to have one of your wheels fall off. Nevertheless, that’s exactly what happened to the driver of this pickup truck.
This video was filmed from the dashcam of a trucker in Warrenton, Virginia and starts off by showing a white pickup pass the trucker. The pickup is sitting on a set of aftermarket wheels sticking well out from the fenders.

As the white pickup continues down Route 29 N, the driver pulls into the right lane and hits the brakes, at which point a white Chevy pickup emerges from the left lane. However, as the driver continues to brake, the front passenger wheel falls off. The driver is able to quickly pull over to the side of the road while the wheel continues to roll along the road and into the grass median, before skipping onto the other side of the road. Thankfully, the cammer was able to brake in time to avoid rear-ending the pickup.
Unless the truck suffered some kind of freak failure, the most likely explanation for the incident is that the lug nuts of the wheel simply weren’t correctly torqued and eventually fell off.
