There was a time when Sébastien Loeb’s grasp on the WRC looked unassailable. Then there came another Frenchman named Sébastien. Different surname, same tenacity, and talent, Ogier is a seven-time world champion and is currently competing for another to bring him just shy of Loeb’s nine. And now one of his race cars is up for grabs, according to Spanish site Periodismo del Motor.
The car in question comes from Ogier’s somewhat lackluster return to the Citroën WRC team. Having driven for the former world champions seven years prior, Ogier said he knew of the challenges that would face him on his 2019 reprise as a Citroën driver. However, after just one season, he announced that he’d be joining Toyota, citing concerns with the C3’s development. Citroën then went on to controversially exit from the WRC altogether, citing Ogier’s departure as the motivating factor.

While 2019 may not have been one for the record books, the fact remains that this was a World Rally Championship-competing car, driven by a present-day legend of the sport. To add to its already storied history, this particular car, chassis no. 20, was used as a Pirelli test mule piloted by two more stalwarts of the WRC: Andreas Mikkelsen and Petter Solberg.
Periodismo del Motor notes that it’s rare for a team to offer championship-driven cars for sale, with only M-Sport and Hyundai having sold off cars to privateers in the past. Available on Mikado Racing, the 2019 Citroën C3 WRC in question has only covered 1000 km (621 miles).
The prospective buyers, who will likely be expected to privateer-run the C3, will be able to run another 3000 km. The rally car comes complete with both tarmac and gravel set-ups. As for pricing, that’s strictly on application.
