Review: 2021 Jaguar F-Type R Looks Great, But How Does It Drive?

Customers can choose between the Coupe and Convertible body styles and decide whether they want the F-Type Black with the four-pot or the V8. The turbocharged 2.0-liter engine develops 300 PS (296 HP / 221 kW) and is paired to an eight-speed automatic transmission that drives the rear wheels for a 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) of 5.5 seconds and a 250 km/h (155 mph) top speed. The 5.0-liter supercharged V8 produces 450 PS (444 HP / 331 kW) and can be ordered with the optional all-wheel drive. In this case, the 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) time drops by one second and top speed increases to 285 km/h (177 mph).

“Creating the new F-Type R-Dynamic Black models gave us the opportunity to subtly enhance the way the car looks – inside and out – and at the same time amplify both the luxury and sporting elements of its character”, said Jaguar’s Design Director, Julian Thomson. “The result is an even more purposeful, focused, distinctive design with real presence, whether you choose the Coupe or Convertible, the four-cylinder or the V8.”
