Immaculate Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country Convertible Will Bring You Back To The ’80s

K-Cars are often the butt of jokes, but there’s something strangely alluring about this 1985 Chrysler LeBaron Town and Country Convertible.

Set to be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s next month, this particular model looks virtually brand new and has only been driven 12,345 miles (19,867 km) in the past 36 years. That’s an average of less than 343 miles (552 km) annually.

The listing doesn’t say much about the car, but it features a brown exterior and enough fake wood to make the previous Jeep Grand Wagoneer blush. The model also has wire wheels and a power soft top.

Moving into the cabin, drivers will find an old school digital instrument cluster and brown seats. The car also has power windows and locks as well as stylish metallic trim and silver accents. Rounding out the highlights are cruise control and a dash plaque simply stating “front wheel drive” – as if anyone would forget.

Power is provided by a 2.6-liter Mitsubishi four-cylinder engine that produces 101 hp (75 kW / 102 PS) and 140 lb-ft (199 Nm) of torque and is connected to a three-speed automatic transmission.

This example is in remarkable condition for its age but, at the end of the day, it’s still a K-Car. While there’s no auction estimate, the LeBaron sold for $12,000 (£8,613 / €9,968) in 2015 and only mustered a high bid of $5,000 (£3,589 / €4,153) three years later.
